The Krones Sales Regions are looking forward to drinktec 2013: ASIA-PACIFIC
The Asia-Pacific region’s share of global demand for packaging machinery is set to keep on rising. This region has already gained substantially in importance over recent years; the Asian market is meanwhile almost as large as its European counterpart, Krones is extensively represented in the Asia-Pacific region, and possesses a good position on the market.
We talk to Thomas Gerstl, Senior Vice President Sales Asia-Pacific, about his clients’ expectations of Krones and the drinktec.
Mister Gerstl, the drinktec is fast approaching. How important is it for the clients, particularly in your own region?
The drinktec is the most important information and communication platform for the beverage industry. Our clients are keen to see the latest trends and innovations, and to have them explained.
What does the beverage market look like in your region? What Krones themes are of particular interest for your clients?
In the Asia-Pacific region, great importance is attached to filling technology for innovative products with and without fruit chunks in aseptic and hotfill processes. Plus efficient monobloc solutions and one more really important thing: local support and solutions for lifecycle service, TCO and maintenance. For small batches flexible, less complex solutions are very important.
What do you personally expect from the drinktec? Is it still the industry’s most important sectoral meet-up?
I’m expecting a large number of clients, high-ranking delegations and decision-makers, who will be coming to Munich in the search for new trends and technologies. These will include many long-standing partners who have stayed loyal to Krones and grown along with us. The drinktec is and remains the sector’s most important trade fair.
