Peak performance at Krones!

Colleagues – friends to some, fiends to others. But in any case you spend a whole lot of time with them. Especially when you’re a shift worker like Jan Regling, you sometimes see them more often than your own family. So it’s a real bonus if you get on well with them.

A view shared by Jan Regling, who’s a welder at Krones’ facility in Rosenheim.

And what do you do together with colleagues who are also genuine friends when you live near the Alps into the bargain? Right, you go backpacking. And that’s precisely what some of our colleagues from the facility in Rosenheim did on 3 October 2014. As a small group, quite unofficially, they planned the route and climbed the Pendling mountain. Because it proved so enjoyable, once they were back in Rosenheim they naturally enough rhapsodised about it – and they must have proved very persuasive, since more or less immediately they were being asked about the next “Krones assault on the summit”.

Now the day is fast approaching! With the support of the Employees’ Council, the summiteers are taking advantage of the work-free Ascension Day, and are inviting all their colleagues to join them for some backpacking on 14 May 2015. The meeting point is the car park at Mömax in Rosenheim, at 9:15 in the morning, whereupon everyone will set off for the Pendling. Because this has already proved its worth as the “Krones Mountain”.

With its 5,160 feet above sea level, it’s a popular destination for backpackers, not only for Jan Regling and his colleagues – perhaps also because into the bargain the Kufsteiner Lodge shortly before the cross on the summit is a welcome and welcoming place for a much-needed rest and a sustaining platter of hearty fare, plus some spectacular views extending far into the Inn valley. Not a bad way at all to spend a Bank Holiday!

So if this has whetted your appetite for spending the Bank Holiday in the mountains, you’re cordially invited to come along to the meeting point and join the intrepid summiteers! So we can give the lodge’s landlord some advance warning, though, Jan Regling would appreciate a brief non-binding response by phone or email (Jan.Regling@krones.com).

If the weather on 14 May proves inclement, the alternative date is 24 May 2015.
