K 2019: sustainable thinking on plastics

Where is the packaging market heading? What political and social developments are in store for us in terms of applications for plastics? Obviously, no one can predict the future, especially in turbulent times like these. This is why we at Krones prefer to concentrate on what we’re good at: developing soundly based strategies for different scenarios – and translating them into practicable solutions for our clients.

You’d like to know what this means specifically? Then simply visit us at the K 2019 in Düsseldorf. On Wednesday, 16 October, the fair finally kicks off: under the motto “Turn waste into new products”, we shall be showcasing a whole spectrum of solutions, with which the sustainable use of PET, PO and Co. can be rendered extremely simple and above all profitable as well.

You will find our pavilion, with Stand Number 15.1, in the outdoor area: just keep a lookout for our blue “Plastics Fairy”, who breathes new life into used plastics.

Because a strong circular economy also needs a strong team, we have additionally brought some can-do support on board for the stand at the fair. Besides Krones’ own experts, you will also find contact persons from our subsidiary MHT AG, which specialises in injection moulding tools. We are also keen to tell you more about our recently finalised cooperation with sorting system manufacturer Stadler Anlagenbau GmbH.

We’re looking forward to eight days of exciting encounters, interesting conversations, and also new food for thought. Because one thing is certain: how humankind deals with packages and recyclables will have to change significantly in future – and we at Krones are ready and willing to make our own contribution!

And even though as physicists and technicians we tend not to believe in fateful happenstance – thanks to a particularly happy coincidence we at Krones will be celebrating an anniversary that fits right in with the K 2019: it was precisely ten years ago that the first Krones recycling plant went into operation in Bangladesh.

A small tip in conclusion: on the opening day of the fair, our plastics expert Jochen Forsthövel will be giving a keynote presentation in the VDMA’s pavilion. It should be well worth listening to!
